Spreads

This series of multi-panel drawings is an attempt to make sense of the overwhelming firehose of information and sensation that comes with being Extremely Online.

I begin the drawings by running a software script which randomly pulls from a collection of found images and video.  The three panels reference a standard method of drawing fortune-telling cards; a way of divining personal meaning through over-burdened sets of symbols.

It’s not about producing a definitive statement, but more creating provisional narratives to make sense of transient feelings. Any autobiographical significance is always plausibly deniable.

One tryptych was longlisted for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize, 2021
